Some Cashmere streets were darkened earlier this year. At Monday’s council meeting, council members agreed it was an immediate concern to repair the underground wires due to it getting dark earlier in the upcoming months. “Some of the lines are so bad, it’s better just to replace the whole circuit, so all of the wiring to all the new lights,” said Steve Croci, Director of Operations.
The streets that will undergo work include: Perry, Chase, Elberta, Pioneer, Chapel-Angier, S. Division.
“We picked some streets that are without lights right now,” said Croci. “We’re going to fix the problem, not just put a band-aid over it. The goal is to dig trenches, put in new conduits, new wires, so the lights should be good to go with grounding.”
The second half of the project is Olive Street, which the city will work together with Chelan PUD on.
