Township Development Minister Datuk Seri Lina Harun pointed out that the department will allocate an additional RM5 million this year to install 30,000 high-pressure sodium lamps (HPSV) and 5,000 LED street lamps for Kampung across the country until 2020.
Lina Harlan said that the demand for installing led street lamps based on Kampung was high, so the plan to set up Kampong street lights was approved by Prime Minister Tun Mahathi.
She said that the government provides similar facilities and technology, in line with the 2030 rural development policy.
