Many works of art are created in natural daylight which means they also deserve to be viewed in daylight. Of course, other requirements also had to be taken into account, such as the preservation and protection of the artworks, pleasant lighting without glare for the visitors, and sustainability. The museum wanted to display the artworks the way they were intended by the artists themselves.
The visual artist, Peter Struycke, chose our StyliD PerfectBeam, due to its superior light quality and maximum beam flexibility. Specifically developed for museum applications, it strikes the perfect balance between presenting art and preserving it. The often conflicting demands for good visibility and conservation are now being met with LED lighting that emits no harmful UV or IR radiation.
Our StyliD PerfectBeam Variable Spot, customized for Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, provides a natural color rendering for the artworks. In addition, it enables curators to use led spot light to evoke emotions and create an unforgettable museum experience. Its modular design, variable beam, beam shaping accessories and onboard dimming ensure maximum flexibility to cope with changing exhibitions and lighting needs. Thanks to StyliD PerfectBeam Variable Spot, the museum displays the works of art in their true colors, making it easy to see, interpret and appreciate masterpieces down to the smallest detail. “We were surprised that visitors started giving us unsolicited compliments about the light and the natural looking colors” says Cathy Jakob.
